Lauren George, PA-C — DC Orthopedics

Lauren George, PA-C

Physician Assistant

  • B.S. in Engineering, Magna Cum Laude — University of Michigan (2006)
  • M.S. in Health Sciences, Physician Assistant Studies — The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences

Lauren grew up in Michigan and earned her Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Michigan, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2006. After working at the University of Michigan Hospital, she moved to Washington, DC in 2007 to attend the School of Medicine and Health Sciences at The George Washington University, where she received a Master of Science in Health Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies and was a member of the Alpha Eta Honor Society.

Lauren began her career as a Physician Assistant at a family medicine clinic in Fredericksburg, Virginia, before becoming Lead Physician Assistant for the Orthopaedic Department at The George Washington University Hospital. During her decade with the GWU orthopaedic team, she specialized in trauma, sports medicine, foot and ankle, and adult reconstruction — training students, residents, and new physician assistants, and lecturing to students and nurses.

Lauren has been part of Dr. Stein’s team for years and is deeply committed to the health and wellbeing of our patients. She works closely with Dr. Stein and the clinical team in the treatment of complex orthopedic needs — assisting in the operating room, seeing patients in the clinic, and guiding the pre- and post-operative care of our surgical patients. She takes genuine pride in helping people recover and return to the active lives they love.

In her free time, Lauren runs, cycles, and avidly cheers for the Washington Capitals. She lives with her husband, two children, and dog in Northern Virginia.
